Visit the Alaska Native Heritage Center and learn about the traditional territories of Alaska and about the Indigenous peoples who call these areas home. While at the Heritage Center you will explore the history and hear stories from Alaska’s Indigenous people and discover cultural heritages that are thriving today. Explore the Village Sites where you can tour six authentic and life-sized dwellings while a guide introduces you to the traditional life of the Iñupiaq, St. Lawrence Island Yupik, Athabascan, Eyak, Haida, Tsimshian, Tlingit, Unangax̂, Alutiiq/Sugpiaq, Yup’ik, and Cup’ik peoples. The Heritage Center also hosts multiple demonstrations of dancing and song, Alaska Native Games demonstrations and storytelling by Alaska Native elders.
